So we're trying another form of Quidditch on the boards based on dice rolls and random integers. This will be even simpler than the other form we were going to try. Games will NOT be role-played, but will be posted every week or so and will work on the point system like in the books. I'll explain the process so you all understand what is happening.
First the two teams will be matched basically at random until each team has played the others at least once. Each will get one dice roll (20-sided die) and that will determine the number of goals they receive (keepers and chasers help this roll). Another roll will be given to each team and whichever with the highest roll catches the snitch (seekers, beaters, and wins help this roll).
For example, Gryffindor is playing Slytherin. Gryffindor rolls a 5 and Slytherin rolls a 4. Gryffindor has 50 points and Slytherin has 40 before the snitch is caught. Gryffindor's second number is 15 and Slytherin's is 9, so Gryffindor caught the snitch. That makes the score Gryffindor 200 to Slytherin 40.
Now you might be thinking what is the point players right? Well, that's a good question, because what you do determines how you can help your team. It's called training, but it's really just a role-play, one post, during the week before your game. Seekers give their team the best of 3 rolls, chasers add an extra 10 points, keepers take 10 points from the other team, and beaters add 1 point to their dice roll.
And lastly, wins also help your score. Each time you win is a point to your advantage on the dice roll determining who catches the snitch. The password is widget. At the end of each game a mass PM will be sent out with the winners, scores, and ranks for the Quidditch cup. This information can also be found in this sub-board. The teams with the two top cumulative points will play for the cup where regular rules will apply. That PM will also contain the date for the next game. After that point, you may "train."
