Magical Purpose Rules
[/u][/center]We know that you all really don’t like rules, but all sites need to have them in order to have a successful role-play community. So, I’m just going to try and make this as quickly as humanly possible.
- RESPECT all members on the site, especially those on the administration or in a higher authority position. If you fail to do so, you will be warned, hopefully we won't have problems again, but if by chance it does happen, you might have to be suspended or banned. That is a slim chance, though. Also, DO NOT argue with the admins or anyone else on the authority side of the site. It's rude and probably will not end very well.
- NO CANON CHARACTERS. There are to be NO Harry Potters, Hermione Grangers, or Draco Malfoys. If you have one of these names, you will be asked to change it. Arguing and persuasion will just get you no where.
- NO CANON CHARACTER RELATIONS. You are not allowed to have the last names of characters from the books, unless, of course, it is something simple like Black. However, if you are to use this particular name, you are NOT allowed to be related to a character from the book. With that said, we move to rule number three.
- YOU MUST HAVE A REAL NAME. You are NOT allowed to leave your display name as your login name. This is a BIG no! By saying this, I mean that you cannot have this displayed as your name "hplover4eva". Instead, you must have the name (first and last) of your character. If you need help thinking of a name, ask an admin, another member, or check out a site like babynames.com.
- ROLE PLAYING is to be done in third-person point-of-view and in past tense. With a literate site, we like to keep things uniform, and this is probably the easiest way to do it. Please strive to use proper spelling, grammar, and punctuation. Also, posts are to be no shorter than 300 characters (letters, punctuation, etc.). There is a set limit on this that does not allow you to post until you've reached that amount. If you feel you are having any troubles with RPing, PM any of our members, we'll be glad to help.
- THERE IS TO BE NO USE OF EXCESSIVE VULGAR LANGUAGE OR SEXUAL REFERENCES! This site is PG-13, let's keep it that way. A little language no and again is acceptable, and most words are already censored. Also, please keep sex out of the boards. If you want to mention it briefly, that's fine, but let's not get rated X here, please.
- THERE ARE TO BE NO RACIAL, RELIGIOUS, OR PREJUDICE COMMENTS MADE! If you are going to be prejudiced against someone because of their background, you might not want to join. We take things very seriously, and we don't want any of our members feeling bad because of who they are. If there are any problems with this, there's a very good chance you will be warned and possible banned.
- YOU MUST BE THIRTEEN TO REGISTER! If you are below thirteen years of age, sorry, you cannot join. This is not our rule, but rather, this is the rule of proboards and part of the “Terms of Service.” If you are under thirteen, we, the administration and site in total, can get into some severe trouble. Please abide by this rule!
- NO OOC POSTING IN IC POSTS. Sure, if you have to go and want to let someone know you are leaving, tell them SHORTLY in the post. There is an OOC board for you to use to talk OOC. If there is a MUST for posting OOC in IC topics, you must make it noticeable that it is OOC. Ways of doing this are brackets, double parenthesis, or other ways that make it obvious.
- DO NOT STEAL THE SITE WORK! The work on this site is copyright to the members, being that their work is their work and not yours. If you wish to possibly use something on the site, please ask for administration permission and we will get back to you as soon as possible.
- SIGNATURES must be no bigger than 520x200 as any bigger than this will stretch the board. You will be getting a PM if your signature is too big, asking for it to be resized. If it is not within 3-5 days, your signature will be taken out by a staff member.
- HAVE FUN! This is the most important thing. Please make sure that you have fun and enjoy yourself. There are rules for a reason, but we want you to have plenty of fun so that we can have a nice enjoyable RP environment. The applications password is butterbeer.
- ADVERTISING. If you want to advertise, feel free. Invite friends, family, and anyone you can think of to the site. We love new members and activity.
